WHEN THE WORLD IS TOO MUCH...

When the World Hurts: Finding Refuge and Healing in God
There are moments in a woman's life when the pain becomes so overwhelming that she simply wants to escape.
Escape the memories.Escape the fear.Escape the questions.Escape the nights when everyone else is sleeping, but her mind refuses to rest.
Trauma can change the way we see ourselves, the world around us, and even our future. Sometimes the strongest women are the ones silently carrying wounds nobody else can see.
But if you are a woman who has been hurt, abused, betrayed, frightened, abandoned, or broken by circumstances beyond your control, God has not abandoned you.
He sees you.
He knows your story.
And He understands the pain you cannot always put into words.
You Can Bring Your Broken Heart to God
The world may tell you to be strong, to move on, or to simply forget what happened. But God does not ask you to pretend that you are not hurting.
He invites you to come exactly as you are.
“Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.”— Matthew 11:28
You do not have to carry everything alone.
You can bring God your anger. Your tears. Your fear. Your questions. Your memories. Your loneliness.
You can even bring Him the moments when you don't understand why He allowed something to happen.
God can handle your honest heart.
Your Trauma Does Not Define You
What happened to you is part of your story, but it does not have to become the definition of who you are.
You are more than what someone did to you.
You are more than the worst moment of your life.
You are more than your scars.
The Bible tells us:
“He heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds.”— Psalm 147:3
Healing may not happen overnight. Sometimes healing is a journey of taking one day, one prayer, and one breath at a time.
And there is no shame in seeking help along the way. God can work through prayer, Scripture, supportive family and friends, counselors, therapists, churches, and caring people who help us find our way back toward wholeness.
When Fear Returns
There may be days when you feel strong and days when the memories return unexpectedly.
On those difficult days, remind yourself:
I survived. I am still here. My story is not over. God is with me.
Psalm 46:1 gives us this powerful promise:
“God is our refuge and strength, an ever-present help in trouble.”
A refuge is a place of safety.
When life feels frightening, you can run to God—not because your circumstances are insignificant, but because He is greater than your circumstances.
Be Still
Sometimes healing begins when we stop trying to control everything and simply sit in God's presence.
Breathe.
Pray.
Cry.
Be still.
“Be still, and know that I am God.”— Psalm 46:10
You don't have to have all the answers today.
You don't have to know what tomorrow will bring.
You only need to take the next step.
And sometimes that next step is simply saying:
“God, I am tired. I need You.”
That prayer is enough to begin.
There Is Still Hope
If trauma has taught you to expect the worst, God can slowly teach your heart to hope again.
If fear has stolen your peace, God can begin restoring it.
If someone made you feel worthless, God can remind you of your value.
If your past has made you afraid of the future, God can meet you there too.
“You will keep in perfect peace those whose minds are steadfast, because they trust in you.”— Isaiah 26:3
Peace does not always mean that the storm immediately disappears.
Sometimes peace means discovering that you are not facing the storm alone.
So, dear woman, if today you are carrying wounds that nobody else can see, remember this:
You are not forgotten. You are not alone. You are not beyond healing. Your life is not over. Your story is not finished.
There may be more chapters ahead—chapters filled with healing, purpose, strength, love, and hope.
Place your broken heart into the hands of the One who knows exactly how to put broken things back together.
Run to God. Rest in His presence. Trust Him with your healing.
And when you cannot see the way forward, hold onto His promise:
“The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want.”— Psalm 23:1
There is still hope. There is still healing. And with God, there can still be a beautiful tomorrow
