WHY?

WHY? Have you ever found yourself questioning your life purpose? Have you been in a position where you’re ready to scream out to the Lord ‘WHY ME?” or “WHY ME ALL THE TIME?” Well I am at that point once again where nothing seems to be going right; there’s job insecurity, great uncertainty in life, loneliness, boredom and just an overwhelming feeling of wanting and needing to return home. Though I know, and teach others about how to respond to these difficult times I’m back there again. So how do I handle it? I take one day at a time, one hour at a time on some days and yes this is depression. Even in the midst of having faith in The Lord depression can still set in and there are times I allow myself to be human and feel this pain. I’m no saint and in my imperfection I falter, as do we all. It’s times like these I am forced to remember the feel of my true home; the feel of Jesus’ arms around me and remind myself that in ‘time’ I will be back with Him. Take courage then and know that Jesus is leading you and if you listen to His voice He will save you from destruction. Know the voice of God and accept that you will never understand His reasons for allowing suffering in our lives. Hence I have stopped asking ‘why’ and begun asking ‘why not?” We do not question the Lord when He blesses us with so much, why should we question Him when we suffer. After all, He allows both joy and sorrow in our lives. Remember: “ John 16:22: "So also you have sorrow now, but I will see you again, and your hearts will rejoice, and no one will take your joy from you." And so I say to you today, in times of trouble do not ask why, instead take refuge in the House of the Lord and rely on His timing, His love and His mercy. Matthew 5:4: "Blessed are those who mourn, for they will be comforted." Psalm 34:18: "The Lord is near to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit."
